Lesson 1: You Are Ready for the Storm
You made it. And I don't say that lightly. Because the journey of this
course --- the honest self-examination, the uncomfortable growth, the
challenges you faced and ran toward rather than away from --- that was
real work. That took courage. And not everyone who starts this kind of
journey finishes it.
But here's what I want you to understand as you stand at this
threshold: this is not an ending. This is a beginning. The POG Bison
Course has given you a framework --- the mindset, the practices, the
community principles, the legacy vision --- that you will spend the rest
of your life going deeper into. Because the bison doesn't stop growing.
The bison doesn't stop running. The bison doesn't stop becoming.
You will face storms after today. I guarantee it. Some of them will be
storms you've seen before. Some of them will be bigger than anything
you've faced up to now. But you are different now than you were when we
started this journey together. You've built your resilience stack.
You've practiced running toward your storms rather than away from them.
You've built and invested in your community. You've begun building
your legacy. You are ready.
I want to leave you with one last image. Picture a field in Colorado. A
massive storm is rolling in from the west --- dark clouds, lightning,
wind. The cows are running east, desperate to escape. And there at the
western edge of the field, turning to face the storm and beginning to
run toward it, is one bison. Just one, at first. And then another. And
another. Until the entire herd is charging west, straight into the heart
of the storm, knowing --- with absolute certainty --- that the other
side is coming, and that the fastest way to get there is through.
That's you. That's who you've become. A bison who charges. A leader
who faces the storm. A person who runs toward what others run from.
Keep running, Bison. The other side is closer than you think.
"You are ready for the storm. You were built for this. Now go charge."
--- Marques Ogden
Key Takeaway: You are not just surviving your storms --- you are
becoming the kind of person who leads others through theirs.

charge toward? What is your first step?
